We will hold a total of 4 camps for players ages 5 and Up.

The camps will have a limit of 30 skaters and 4 goalies. Admission is on a first-come, first serve basis so register soon!

Tyke Camp

The Champions Hockey Academy Tyke Camp is a great opportunity for youngsters learn the basic fundamentals of the game of hockey.

 

Ages 5-7

COST: $175 ($155 if registered by May 10th)


* 1˝ hours on-ice daily
* 3 on-ice instructors and 2 assistant instructors
* Introduction to skating techniques, stick handling, passing and shooting 
* Lots of fun!

Good Habits Development Camp

Ages 7-10

3 hours on-ice daily, 9am-4pm daily

COST: $395 ($375 if registered by May 10th)

 Power Skating  

·         Proper guidelines to improve and maximize stride

·         Finding  your balance

·         Proper knee bending  for maximum skating power

·         Learn how to use your stride all the way through

·         How to turn, stop properly, and quickly go the other direction

·         Where to position your hands properly while striding

 Puck Control

·         How to handle puck while skating and performing moves

·         Where to position puck properly on your stick

·         How to roll your wrists to help protect the puck

·         How to use your vision with puck control

·         Use forehand and back hand.

 Passing

·         Get a feel for the puck

·         How to generate speed w/puck while passing

·         How to accept passes

·         Learn how to lead the player w/puck

·         Learn how to raise the puck “saucer pass”

 General Game like situations

·         Helping kids to stay in position and not to chase the puck. 

·         How to defend not chase opponents

·         How to create outnumbered offensive situations

·         Learn to play offense and defense.

 Goal Scoring

·         Learn all your shots in split groups

·         Put them to use using speed and game like situations

·         How to use your teammates

·         How to put yourself in goal scoring positions

Team Play

·         Learn all positions

·         How to play positions offensively and defensively

·         All with using  5 man units

·         Using simple breakouts – how to position yourself on rush

·         Separate in offensive zone for best positioning

Other Features

·         Controlled scrimmage daily

·         1 hour of off ice conditioning with certified hockey strength and conditioning coach, 1 hour Recreation

·         Team play lectures and video instruction

·         Jersey and lunch provided

Pro Development Camp "How to become a Champion"

Ages 11-14

4-1/2 Hours on-ice daily

COST: $475 ($455 if signed up by May 10th)

 Introductory

·         Learn how to play your position

·         Learn to position yourself properly with and without the puck

·         How to get available and how to take space away

 Power Skating

·         Forward and backwards strides that give you maximum speed

·         Performing stops/starts, crossovers, pivots, and tight turns

·         Use of power skating techniques while incorporating pucks  

Puck Control

·         Learn how to handle the puck and where to position hands/body properly

·         How to develop quick hands

·         Protecting the puck

Passing

·         How to properly give and receive passes using forehand and backhand

·         Using catch and release, saucer, and flip passes

·         Put them to use in game-like situations, learn to pass on the fly, and lead your teammates.

 Team Play

·         Basic team play, positioning, communicating

·         Learn how to stay in your lanes

·         Learn when to jump into rush

·         Learn when to fore check and when to back off

·         How to angle players off and how to read the play

·         Learn the basics on how to protect yourself and how to properly position yourself to separate player from puck.

·         Controlled daily scrimmage adding minor hitting

 Daily Lectures

·         How to become a captain and learn what captains do

·         What a coach looks for in a captain

·         Different techniques on the how to lead your team 

·         On ice & Off Ice behavior

Other Features

·         Two special jerseys will be worn each day (1 each team) to the leader from previous day.  These jerseys will be awarded at end of week to the two players that led their teams the best.

·         1 hour of off ice conditioning with certified hockey strength and conditioning coach, 1 hour Recreation

·         Team play lectures and video instruction

·         Jersey and lunch provided

Taking it to the Next Level Camp "Conditioning Program"

Ages 14-17

2 hours ice daily

COST: $250 ($230 if signed up by May 10th)

 Camp Features

·         Advanced PS w/pucks

·         Stops & starts, pivots, turns, crossovers, parachute training

·         Puck Control

·         Lots of variations in skills different protecting puck theme every  day

·         Passing

·         Learn the art of passing in all situations

·         Learn how to position yourself properly on defense, and how to put yourself in opportunistic situations offensively.

·         Learn how to back check properly how to communicate and how to play team defense.

·         Controlled hitting :protect yourself, spinning, separating, take the man out

·         Advanced scoring techniques (split groups)

·         How to get your shot off – how to know what shot to use

·         Rushing the net for scoring opportunities

·         Learn Proper Nutrition and Muscle Recovery System

 

 

Additional Features

1 hour of off ice conditioning with certified hockey strength and conditioning coach.

·         Learn proper warm up prior to competing

·         Incorporating core training to help your game

·         Proper cardio conditioning and what it takes to compete in a 60 minute game.
