On June 25th - June 29th, the Champions Hockey Academy will hold a total of 6 camps for players ages 5 and Up. The camps will have a limit of 30 skaters and 4 goalies. Admission is on a first-come, first serve basis so register soon!

Tyke Camp
The
Champions Hockey Academy Tyke Camp is a great opportunity for
youngsters learn the basic  fundamentals of the game of hockey.
Location: Des Moines; Metro Sports Plex Ice Arena
Ages: 5-7
Cost: $150
Dates: Wednesday June 25th to Sunday June 29th
Time: 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm
Camp Features
* 1-1/2 hours on ice daily
*Players will be notified of their acceptance by a confirmation e-mail
*3 instructors & 2 assistant instructors
*Introduction to skating techniques, stick handling, passing and shooting

Fundamental Camp
The
Champions Hockey Academy Fundamental Camp is a great opportunity for
young players to develop their skills under the guidance of
professionals.
Location: Des Moines; Metro Sports Plex Ice Arena
Ages: 8-12
Cost: $365
Dates: Wednesday June 25th to Sunday June 29th
Time: 9:30am - 4:45pm
Camp Features
*17 1/2 hours on-ice Wednesday-Sunday
*Players will be notified of their acceptance by a confirmation e-mail
*3 instructors & 2 assistant instructors
*1 3/4 hours in morning each day on shooting, skating, passing and puck control
*1 3/4 hours afternoon, team play and scrimmage
*1 hour off-ice training
*1 hour daily recreation
*Individual video tape analysis on shooting and skating
*Special goalie instruction with videotape analysis
*Daily lectures
*Lunch provided daily

The Power Skating, Goal Scoring, Puck Control Camp is for players that already play hockey at a high-level.

Camp Features
*3-1/2 hours on ice daily
*Players will be notified of their acceptance by a confirmation e-mail

 *45 minutes daily power skating on-ice
*Parachute resistance training
*1 hour daily puck control
*Develop stick fakes
*Protecting the puck
*Develop quick stick handling by using lead pucks
*Develop skill of finding open ice
*Develop feet as part of puck control
*Learn curl and drag skill with stick
*Learn the power of peripheral vision
*Use stickmen for putting puck through triangle and between opponent’s legs
*Develop puck control while skating backwards and while pivoting
*1 hour daily goal scoring
*Develop stick speed while shooting
 *Develop one-timer shot
*Develop off-balance shot
*Learn art of when to shoot, when to deke
*Develop all shots ¬ wrist, backhand, snap, slap and deke
*Develop proper positioning for goal scoring
*Develop point shots and art of tip-ins
*Learn how to shoot on-the-fly
*45 minutes controlled scrimmage
*1 hour plyometrics Speed & Power program

to increase their skill level under the guidance of professionals.

Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Camp Features
*10 hours on-ice Wednesday-Sunday
*Players will be notified of their acceptance by a confirmation e-mail
*3 instructors & 2 assistant instructors
*Optional warm up with professional strength and conditioning coach at 5:15
*30
minutes power skating, forward and backward strides, stops/starts,
crossovers and Mohawk turns, Parachute training (With and without pucks)
 *30 minutes passing, puck control and shooting
*30 minutes positional play
*30 minutes team play and scrimmage
*15 minutes for questions and individual instruction
