Instructors


John Tripp

Mr. Tripp has a long history of professional hockey under his belt.  Past playing seasons with the LA Kings, New York Rangers, and in the DEL,  Top German League.  He currently is playing on the same team as our Head Instructor Marty Wilford.  John is known as a power forward.  Noted for his size and physical play, he brings with him an enormous  amount of experience of the game and has been an active teacher of the game over the years with schools and summer camps. 


Marty Wilford

Champions Hockey Academy Head Instructor Marty Wilford will have an active role in your hockey experience this summer.  Bringing with him 10 years of Pro experience and 8 years of being a main instructor at Canadian Enterprises Hockey School, Marty will take on the role as the main coordinator of all on ice activities for our Academy.    





Paul Jerrard

“Coach Paulie” will be returning for our second year as a main fixture at the Academy’s camp.   Coach Jerrard currently is the Assistant Coach for the AHL, Iowa Stars and has a long resume of playing and coaching that he brings with him.  He also has done teaching at his alumni, Lake Superior,  hockey schools and at Bob Hartley’s camps in Hershey, PA.   Coach Jerrards vast knowledge as playing and coaching defense will be applied to his teachings during the camp.




Colin Beardsmore

This will be Colin’s first year working with Champions Hockey Academy.  He currently plays with the Sinupret Ice Tigers in the DEL, the same league as Head Instructor Marty Wilford.  Colin has a huge background of teaching hockey with the Canadian Enterprises Hockey School for the past 8 years.  Having success as a forward, Colin provides our Academy with his perspectives as a centerman and what it takes to be a pro.






Mark Cinq-Mars

Mark Cinq-Mars is a Strength & Conditioning Coach who has been working with Amateur & Professional Athletes for over 15 years, including the former Chicago Blackhawks AHL affiliate Norfolk Admirals for several seasons.  The owner of ‘Pro Fitness Training’ where Athletes train to reach their full potential, Mark specializes in : Strength, Speed & Agility, Power, Core Conditioning and Flexibility.  One of his modos is to supply sport specific training to enhance sport performance.  He will be returning for his second season with our Academy.

Matt Climie (Goalie Instructor)

Matt joins us after having a successful college career at Bemidji State University.  Recently signing a contract with the Dallas Stars, Climie has taught goalie’s through schools while at University and brings us the latest drills and techniques used by today’s pro players.  








Chad Cavanagh

Chad has played professional Hockey at the ECHL and European level for the past 5 years.  He brings Champions Hockey Academy a long back ground working at Canadian Hockey Enterprises with Marty as a head instructor both on and off ice for the past eleven years.

His knowledge for the game and experiences of learning from other professional coaches, he will be demonstrating the proper techniques and biomechanics of power skating and skills to each kid.

Currently working with Inside Edge hockey consulting firm scouting and recruiting kids to go to the NCAA on 50-100% scholarships.

Mike D’Alessandro (Goalie/Forward Instructor)


Mike is working with us for the first time this year having the following playing and teaching back ground. He played three seasons in the OHL for the Guelph Storm and the Barrie Colts, also played 4 seasons at the University of Western Ontario winning a National Championship there. He then went on to play a year of professional hockey in the United hockey league for the Richmond River Dogs.  Mike finished his playing carrer after one season in Asiago Italy in the top division. I have worked as one of the head goalie instructors at Canadian Hockey Enterprises for 10 years.
