Marty Wilford, Head Instructor

Champions Hockey Academy Head Instructor Marty Wilford will have an active role in your hockey experience this summer.  Bringing with him 15 years of Pro experience and 9 years of being a main instructor at Canadian Enterprises Hockey School, Marty will take on the role as the main coordinator of all on ice activities for our Academy for the sixth year.  Marty is currently an Assistant Coach with the Anaheim Ducks AHL team.  As a coach, Marty will teach the kids how to:  play their position, use the whole ice, read situational plays, use your teammates, make the game easier on yourself, use your peripheral vision.  As a player, Marty has smart vision, knows how to play his position, is a great passer and has a good understanding and exceptional knowledge of the sport.  He has a good feel on how to motivate his teammates throughout the game.  His greatest technique is relaying messages to kids as a coach and as a player he believes his greatest strength is his ability to communicate and to know when to motivate.
